YouTube

I started making YouTube videos back in 2012, originally starting off in my back garden shed with a series called Shed Science. The channel has since outgrown the shed, with videos from Finland to French Polynesia and reaching over 85K subscribers. I’ve tried a little bit of everything over the years, including vlogging, video podcasts, livestreamed lecture series, practical demos, music parodies, stand-up comedy…you name it!

At the heart of all my videos is a desire to share my enthusiasm for science and the natural world with people who don’t necessarily consider themselves scientists. I like to bring nuance, evidence and academic rigour to complex topics while making them clear, engaging and showing the people behind the science.

I’m available to hire as an on-camera science presenter, interviewer or host for your video projects, and also work with companies to help them make their own branded videos.
